Makeen Shaw

Physiotherapist. Special interest in sports injuries and pre and post surgical rehab

Makeen Shaw is a WA local who has worked in private practice since graduating from Curtin University. Makeen enjoys treating all musculoskeletal problems in a way that not only aims to manage short-term pain, but also to improve long-term function and injury risk.

As a lover of all things sport – particularly AFL, tennis and cricket – Makeen’s passion is in treating sporting injuries to allow people to return to playing the sport they love. He’s at his happiest when assisting at training for the High Wycombe Football and Cricket Clubs and loves that Brighter Healthcare has been a proud sponsor of the High Wycombe Football Club and High Wycombe Cricket Club for the last few years.

Makeen makes fast relief of pain a priority and utilises manual therapy, exercise prescription and dry needling within his treatment plans, as well as helping the client to increase their knowledge of their condition to maximise self-management. He loves to help people maintain a healthy, active lifestyle and is particularly passionate about the benefits of exercise therapy to achieve this.

Outside of work, watching and playing sports, Makeen loves to travel and has also recently taken up gardening.
